To keep everything running smoothly and safely, everyone staying on the property — whether caretaker, resident, or guest — must follow these key guidelines.
☀️ Power & Energy Use
Our property runs on solar energy with backup batteries.
Use high-power appliances (washing machine, kettle, air con) only during daylight hours.
Unplug and switch off everything before sunset or during storms.
No air conditioning overnight unless approved — this drains the batteries.
If you need overnight air conditioning, please contribute $50/week toward energy costs.
💧 Water Conservation
We rely on bore water, so every drop counts.
Fill water tanks in the morning and check again in the afternoon.
Switch off all taps after use — running water can burst pipes or damage the pump.
Unplug the bore pump before every storm to avoid lightning damage.
Report leaks or unusual pressure immediately.
🐾 Animal Care & Respect
Our animals include donkeys, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, and peacocks — many of them rescues.
Do not feed or handle any animals without permission.
Always close gates securely after entering or leaving an enclosure.
Report any injuries or unusual behavior to the caretaker immediately.
🧹 Cleanliness & Shared Spaces
Everyone is responsible for keeping their area and shared spaces clean.
Outdoor kitchen and bathroom must be cleaned daily after use.
Remove rubbish and food waste — this helps prevent insects and wildlife issues.
Always leave spaces better than you found them for the next person.

Unplug all electrical items before storms.
Secure outdoor furniture and tools to prevent damage.
Check the weather radar daily and help protect animals and property before bad weather hits.
🔒 Security & Safety
Never allow anyone onto the property who is not registered or approved as a caretaker or visitor.
Unauthorized entry is not permitted under any circumstances.
Always keep gates closed and locked when not in use.
Report any unexpected visitors, damage, or safety concerns immediately.
