At Berry Springs Farmstay, we take pride in keeping our gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces beautiful and well cared for.
Everyone is expected to share in maintaining the surroundings so that the property remains safe, tidy, and enjoyable for all — including our animals.
💧 Watering & Irrigation
💦 Our water supply comes from a bore system, so please use water thoughtfully.
🌞 Water early in the morning or late afternoon to reduce evaporation.
🌱 Direct water to the base of plants, not on leaves or paths.
🚿 Always turn taps off completely after use to prevent leaks or pressure loss.
🌧️ Avoid watering after rain or when soil is already moist.
🔧 Report any leaks, broken hoses, or damaged sprinklers to the caretaker immediately.
🌾 Lawn & Surroundings
🌿 It is expected that everyone shares the maintenance of the lawn and surrounding areas.
🪴 This includes keeping grass short, removing debris, and reporting any hazards.
⚡ Please take time to get familiar with our electric mower before use — instructions and a short demonstration can be provided.
🧤 Always wear closed shoes and safety gear when mowing or using garden tools.
🌿 Avoid mowing when the ground is wet or when animals are nearby.
✂️ Pruning & Light Garden Care
🌸 Light pruning, weeding, and tidying around your area are appreciated.
🌳 Do not cut large branches or alter trees without approval, as this may affect wildlife and shading.
🍃 Trim small plants or herbs to keep the space neat and healthy.
🧹 Garden Cleanliness
🧺 Keep the area around your accommodation clean and free of clutter.
🍂 Remove fallen leaves, branches, or grass cuttings and place them in the green waste or compost area.
🐜 Do not leave rubbish, food, or garden waste outside overnight — this attracts pests and snakes.
🪴 Potted Plants
Water pots gently until the soil is damp, not soaked.
Move delicate plants into shaded spots on extremely hot days.
Check for ants, snails, or pests regularly.
🐞 Wildlife Awareness
🐍 Be aware that snakes, frogs, and lizards may occasionally appear in garden areas.
Stay calm and give them space — they are part of the natural ecosystem here.
Report any sightings or concerns to the caretaker so we can handle them safely.
